Final GCSE Projects (started at the end of Year 10)

Pupils start their graphics GCSE coursework in April of year 10. Initially they go on a trip to Bristol Zoo to collate their research for their chosen design brief. Every design brief is related to the Zoo.

Example design briefs include:

  • To redesign and make a model of the Pelican Restaurant

  • To design and make a point of sale display and a range of promotional goods for the shop

  • To design a promotional advert for Bristol Zoo. A 3D set will have to be made and digitally animated

  • To design and make a range of dynamic cards and a pop-up book to be sold in the gift shop

Once they have collated their research they each work through the design process eventually producing a final design. From the end of September they start the manufacture of their project which must be completed by February half term. The pupils then evaluate and explain the modifications made to their design which then completes their design folios.
