Year 7 - making felt

| The textiles unit in year 7 looks at the manufacture of felt. Pupils are shown the felt making technique and are encouraged to think carefully about colour and texture. Using other materials and components each pupil then designs a piece of jewellery and a greetings card incorporating their piece of fabric.

Year 8 - Juggling balls

The Juggling Balls
project is influenced by our link with the Wylie Memorial High School in Ludhiana, in India. Pupils research Indian culture and fabric design and using this knowledge produce three juggling balls using batik and tie dying methods. Pupils use a combination of hand and machine sewing techniques, they consider the size of the juggling balls and their suitable fillings. |
