PALAIS DES CONGRES- PARIS, SATURDAY 22^ND JANUARY

Mr Fisher and 10 sixth form pupils recently attended a conference in Paris that covered a whole range of topics connected to the issue of Britain’s place in Europe. The conference was arranged by European Study Tours and was enjoyed by all the pupils.

There were a series of lectures from people who had been MEPs and others who had done business in Europe. Paddy Ashdown gave a talk on European defence policy and Simon Woodruff explained how he had created the idea of YO SUSHI and how he saw opportunities for further development in Europe. The whole day was hosted by Phil Gale the Channel 4 newsreader.

There were lots of opportunities for exploring Paris and practicing our language skills during the weekend and on Sunday we visited the biggest flea market in Paris. All in all it was a very worthwhile experience and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
