- Robot Arm simulation - recording commands and refining a program,
basic decisions

- Digital image capture and manipulation

Database tasks (MS Access / MS Excel):
- Completion of the initial GCSE 1b coursework task using a pre-prepared
database.
- Using a database/spreadsheet to analyse the nutrients in cereals
(adult vs. children's)
Desktop publishing: (MS Publisher)
- Using MS Access to produce a magazine article on cereals using the
results of their analysis.

Internet and multimedia CD-ROM software, along
with its presentation.
- Setting up email accounts, sending
and receiving email and email attachments.
- Modelling and graphing using a spreadsheet (Excel 2000).
- Computer aided design (CAD) using 2D Design and
Pro/DESKTOP 2000i, linking in with
construction projects in the Design &
Technology department.
- An introduction to computer programming using
control simulation software.
- Searching and sorting pre-prepared databases
followed by pupils collecting data and constructing
their own databases.
- Web page development and construction of a simple website.
- Digital image capture and manipulation
- Producing web animations using Serif PhotoPlus 6
- Using PowerPoint slide presentation software and giving a
presentation to a class using a data projector.
