ICT Teaching:
Information & Communication
Technology (ICT) forms part of the National Curriculum
and is offered to all Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils as a subject in its
own right, and across the curriculum to all pupils in
subject areas where it is relevant and appropriate.
-
Key Stage 3:
all
pupils have one period of ICT per week, with all but a few classes being
taught by a subject
specialist. ICT teaching groups are small enough to guarantee each pupil access to their own computer during
lessons.
-
Key Stage 4: all pupils have
one period of ICT per week. This allows pupils to complete a
GCSE short course in ICT. A GCSE full course in ICT is
also available as one of the
Key Stage 4 GCSE option choices.
ICT forms a major part of a pupil's learning
experience in school and its use as a learning tool and for
the preparation of work is encouraged in all subjects.
