Copper was discovered in about 8000 BC and was first used five thousand years ago.It was the the first metal to be used about ten thousand years ago .It was first used for coins, bottoms of boats and is still used today in wires because it is a good heat and electrical conducter .

Copper is found around the world in basaltic lava and is reconised by its brownish,reddish metalic colour .Pure copper is soft and can be made into a different shape.
