About this Comenius Project

Unfortunately our Polish partner, Leopold Wegrzynowicza school has experienced difficulties with funding from their agency and did not join us until later in the year.

All our projects are centred around exchanging ideas in Science and Technology.

The Environment Project

During our first year, 1997/1998 we want to encourage pupils from all four schools to communicate with each other via FAX and Email researching issues related to the environment. This will include;

Hawkesbury Primary School who will look at transport systems
KLBS who will look at the generation of electricity
De Goudse Waarden will look at water
IES Tacoronte will research leisure and tourism in each environment.

In all over 500 pupils and students from all partner schools took part in this mammoth project and the results of the survey were displayed in classrooms and on the Comenius notice board.

The Heraldry Project

One of our existing Design and Technology graphic projects at KLB School is the Heraldry Project where pupils design a coat of arms for their own family, based on their hobbies, number of people in their family, their parent's occupations etc. We have chosen to use this project to design a heraldic shield for one of their Comenius partners, thus discovering a little more about their culture.

Final designs will be printed out and sent via Email to their partner and CAD drawing software will be used for the realisation of the shields.
