The Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation generously funded the International
Week in 1999 where projects were based on Japanese culture. Pupils form year 9 worked
on a 10 metre concrete dragon, a
Japanese food restaurant, making kimonos, origami, making kites, Japanese pots and many others.

"The Japanese Exchange 2000 was supported by a generous grants from the Daiwa
Foundation and The Sasakawa Foundation. The school also wishes to acknowledge the
assistance of Connect Youth International, a department of The British Council, which
co-ordinates the award of grants."
