Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School is a rural comprehensive school with Language College and Training School status.
Situated in beautiful countryside on the edge of a Cotswold town just below the Cotswold escarpment, it was founded in 1384 making it one of the oldest state schools in the country. Currently it has over 1450 students attracted from Wotton-under-Edge and nearby villages as well as a significant number from further afield.
The sixth form numbers around 300 students, mainly from Katharine Lady Berkeley's School but with a few having transferred from other schools or having moved into the area. It is organised on a fairly traditional basis with students studying AS levels in the Lower Sixth and A2 levels in the Upper Sixth.
The two years of 6th Form education offer you many exciting opportunities, which will be rewarding as well as challenging.
By choosing to study AS at KLB School, you are choosing a caring and structured environment which will help you to realise your potential. We provide good teaching, a good working environment and sound guidance on all aspects of post GCSE studies. For existing students, the staff know you and you know them, but for new students you will find you quickly feel a part of this Sixth Form.
Many of our students go onto higher education and we have a strong tradition of students entering Oxbridge. Whatever your goals, we will help you to achieve them.
The Sixth Form is the time when some of the most important decisions in your life are made and our aim is that you feel supported and confident in the choices that you make.
The School
The school will do its utmost to ensure that your Sixth Form courses are of a high quality and that you receive initial and continuing guidance about your courses. Appropriate work will be set and marked and you will be prepared thoroughly for examinations during and at the end of your courses. We will ensure, wherever possible, that there is a smooth transition between Lower and Upper Sixth courses.
