Early in September, all parents of Year 6 children should receive their copy of the Transfer to Secondary School booklet produced by the County Council.
This gives full details of the process of transfer, how to apply, each school’s admission criteria and the dates of any Open Days and/or Open Evenings etc. This booklet can also be viewed online (PDF file format) at: http://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=7726.
All parents of Y6 children must submit a Common Application Form to the School Admission Team at Shire Hall by a set deadline in December (the exact date is posted on their website). The Council encourages parents to register online at: www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions using the UPN (Unique Pupil Number) issued to parents. In this case, an email reply will be sent to confirm the application has been received.
Parents and children are welcome to visit KLB School at any time, simply telephone or email to request a suitable day and time.
We hold an Open Evening every October (see the school calendar for the exact date each year) where the Headmaster, Mr. Harris, will give several talks and there will be tours of the school. Pupils and staff will be on hand to answer questions and visitors can see displays of pupils’ work. A school prospectus will be made available on this occasion but one can be requested at any time by contacting the school.
This can be downloaded (PDF format) using the link at the bottom of this webpage.
If you have questions about the application process please contact the School Admissions Team at Shire Hall, Gloucester GL1 2TP, telephone 01452 425407. They also have the top ten questions on their website at: www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions.
