ICT work - Y8/Y9 Digital Artwork
Autumn Term 2003 -
Cubists such as Picasso and Braque created strange, confusing images made up
of several over-lapping pictures.

Year 8 and year 9 pupils have been exploring
the use of Serif PhotoPlus to produce images in the 'Cubist style'.
The task involved the following stages:
- Creating a blank square background;
- Adding a layer and drawing a simple outline of a face or object;
- Duplicating the layer 3 or more times, flipping and moving the new layers to form an
overlapping pattern;
- Flattening the layers to end up with 1 layer and the background;
- Filling the different areas of the image in a range of colours,
including selecting the areas first with the 'magic wand tool and then
using graduated fills.
- Adding some noise and blur to add some texture to the blocks of colour;
- Experimenting with various digital filters and deformations;
- Exporting the final image as a JPEG file.
