Bear Street Garage is a small Ford garage in
Wotton, specialising in Fords however they do fix other makes of
cars. When i was there to start with i only got to do M.O.T's
which involved sitting inside the car and operating the car
controls for the mechanics to check the car. However further on
in the week i got to do more hands on things such as changing
parts such as oil filters, spark plugs and fuel filters. When i
was there i was provided with overalls from the garage. i got
there by my parents although there is a bus available. You get a
quarter of an hour break in the morning and then a half hour break
for lunch there are many shops in Wotton to get your lunch but
you can bring your own.
The rules are normal safety rules
just use common sense and you will be fine. If you act sensibly
and responsibly you will earn the trust of the workers. you have
to ask them to make you do more adventurous jobs. you generally
work individually with another worker however once or twice you
will work with more than one person. the experience was very good
for me and introduced a lot of options.
