My Work Experience
For my work experience I went to Natwest headquarters in Bristol also known as Royal Bank of Scotland. I spent the week over two floors, 'Coutts' and 'Personal Banking', visiting several departments and working within different teams. I viewed clients details and portfolios, learning how all the systems work. I also listened in on them talking and handling with customers enquiries, I found this very interesting and quite fun.
During my week I wrote letters to clients regarding their accounts, faxed information on to others, photocopied letters and documents which was kept for filing which I also then had to file. All of which I found very interesting and useful for my future job. I spent one of the days updating clients records and account details on spread sheets, although rather tedious it felt satisfied when I had finished the box.
I Had access to clients account balances, which are pretty big amounts!! Although doing this I had to sign a confidentiality agreement in which I agreed not to divulge customers personal details.
I travelled to work every day with one of my parents by car, we had to leave early as we would probably encounter the typical Bristol traffic. I started between 8.30-9.30 in the morning and finished at 4.00, I had to take an hours lunch each day which I found to be enjoyable. All in all I had a fantastic time and would recommend it to anyone wanting to work within a bank or with money. I would love to go back in the future and maybe work there.
