Berkeley Primary School Work Experience

Where is it?

Berkeley Primary School, is obviously in Berkeley, it is situated on Marybrook Street just opposite and left to the hospital

 

What do I need to wear?

You need to wear: any thing you want really, casual clothes (eg, jeans and t-shirt)

 

Where and what do I eat?

For lunch you need to bring your own food (packed lunch), you have 3 choices of where you want to eat it, either
  • in the classroom which are working in, but your be on your own
  • on the school field, with the children
  • or finally in the staff room with the teachers

 

What I did?

I worked in the reception class (you get to chose where you want to work) I mainly helped the children with their work, either reading or writing, I also played with the children in the sand or water. I was allowed to do really what ever I wanted, as long as I (and the children) were sensible!!!

 Where do I go?

On the first day you need to go to the office, explain why your their an then they will send you to the headmaster who will tell you about rules and stuff and then he will ask you which class you want to go to and then the teacher of that class is in charge of you and will tell you what they want you to do, and then on just go to that classroom in the mornings.

 Was it worthwhile?

I think that it was fun at Berkeley Primary School, it was really easy, you don't have to be their until 9.00 so not as early as here, and you leave at 3.15 so the hours are short and not boring 9 till 5 job.
