| The making and distribution of the Evening Post, Daily Metro and Western Daily Press |
| Journalist, Graphic Designer, General Administration, Finance. |
| I watched and listened to many people doing there daily jobs, they informed my upon what they were doing and i was given several different tasks to complete. |
| Monday: Tour around building, Advertisement Department, listened to phone calls about public and commercial companies calling in to advertise in the paper. | |
| Tuesday: Ad-creation, watched adverts being made, photo edited a picture then got to design the front page of the Evening Post with this picture as the main feature | |
| Wednesday: Editorial, went to crown court with a journalist to sit in public sector of court, listening to the different cases then seeing the journalists report in the paper the next day was particularly interesting! | |
| Thursday: Finance, had a project to undertake that included using a database and working out sums, writing formulae etc. | |
| Friday: Circulation, helped insert information into the database, transported leaflets to office. |
| About 7 minutes walk away from the Galleries shopping centre (great for Lunch times) averaged out at about 35 minutes each way by car. |
| How to work a database (formulae etc.) a bit of knowledge about how a business works |
| Had to sign in and out every day. |
| I would thoroughly recommend this as a work-experience, it is well prepared so you are not left at anytime with nothing to do, the staff are very friendly, welcoming and happily answer any questions you may wish to ask. Overall it is a very enjoyable experience and incredibly close to the galleries shopping centre, great for shopping during lunch hour! |
| I think that some areas of work in this company would be rather tedious if it were to be done on a day in day out basis however some areas of this company would make a very exciting career! |
