General information on what I did during the placement:

bulletHelped build a staircase and then helped start another on the Friday.

Daily Diary:

bulletMonday: Drew out the way in which the staircase will be made.
bulletTuesday: Started cutting up the timber for the stairs.
bulletWednesday: Went out to Yate to to collect timber from store and carried out making the staircase.
bulletThursday: Finished the staircase and was very proud that I had helped make something so good.
bulletFriday: Went to Gloucester to collect more timber for second staircase. 

Location and Travel arrangements:

bulletEasy to get to because it was only in Wotton where I lived.

Particular skills or abilities needed:

bulletNone in particular but you need to concentrate and listen carefully. 

Health and Safety requirements:

bulletI had to wear a mask for dust and had to use the dust extractor every time we cut some timber.

Advice for anyone considering this as a work-experience placement:

bulletDon't expect to do loads on the first day and you will do more as you go along.

Advice for anyone considering this as a career:

bulletIf its something you like to do then do it for yourself not just for money. [But is also good pay once you get into it].
