| Teaching, assisting, secretary, etc. |
| During the week I worked with a range of different aged children with different abilities and assisted the teachers during lessons. I listened to children read, helped them with basic work in maths and literacy, and went on a trip with Class 1 to supervise a group of children. I took a lesson on my own with a teacher supervising. I had fun man. (I actually did) |
| Monday: Trip to Nature in Art at Twigworth with Class 1. Supervised a group of children. | |
| Tuesday: Spent my time with Class 1 making sculptures, giving the children ideas for what they could make and out of what. Teaching them all about texture etc. | |
| Wednesday: Went into Class 3, listened to children read and helped them with clay work. | |
| Thursday: Class 3, helped with IT skills, did lunch duty, helped file catalogues. | |
| Friday: Activity day within the whole school ; Kenya Day. Helped with presentations and helped children with art work in the afternoon. |
| School was approx 2 and a half miles from my house, walked to and from school each day. |
| Have to be good with children, patient, get on with staff, have the energy at the end of the day to walk home after having a load of children wanting you to play with them all day, I nearly collapsed twice but it was funny. |
| None really |
| This was such a cool week for me, I really enjoyed it, even though I thought it was just going to be average it turned out to be amazing and I loved it. You just have to be laid back and do what you get asked to do, make sure that you don't let the kids get away with too much otherwise they think they can do anything to you. It's annoying. Some of the kids are really spoilt so you just have to ignore them. |
| Primary School teaching is pretty hard and I think that you have to have a lot of patience and a lot of energy if you want to do it for a long period of time. |
