General information on what I did during the placement:

bulletWorking with Community Coaches, Children. Go out to Primary Schools and coach sporting activities to the children.

Daily Diary:

bulletMonday: 9:30 met the coach I was going to be with. Went to a meeting with all the coaches. Went to a school in Patchway in the afternoon I helped coached 10 kids for an hour. Got taught how to mark out a football pitch. Helped the kids with skills and then watched them play a match at the end.
bulletTuesday: Went to a school in Thornbury helped coached 22 girls for an hour. Helped them with their skills then refereed a match at the end. Went to another school in Thornbury coached boys and girls for an hour. Helped them with skills and refereed a match at the end for the girls.
bulletWednesday: Went to the office in Yate emailed a women about sport courses. Went to a school in Filton. Coached for an hour. Helped them with their skills and watched the match at the end. Measured out 2 pitches. Went to another school on Filton for an after school club. Coached 6 girls for an hour. Helped with skills and joined in. Watched a 3 a side match at the end.
bulletThursday: Went to a school in Downend had 3 classes there. Year 4,5&6 for 50 mins each. Helped coach athletics. Shot put and hammer. Then went to another school. 1 class for 2 and a half hours. had a break in the middle. 1st part helped them with there bowling and hitting skills in rounders. Then played a rounders game. I bowled. After break played cricket game. I then finished.
bulletFriday: I did 1 hour of coaching.

Location and Travel arrangements:

bulletIn Yate. Went by Bus 25minutes from Charfield.

Particular skills or abilities needed:

bulletNeed a sporty ability and confident when working with children.

bulletTo be responsible when playing an activity.

Advice for anyone considering this as a work-experience placement:

bulletIt gives a good idea of what it is like to work involving sport. a great opportunity to work with young children and helped them with sport.

Advice for anyone considering this as a career:

bulletIt is very enjoyable. You need at least to be a level 1 coach. It is very fun.
