| Monday: moved and stacked bricks, assisting carpenter, sweeping out building | |
| Tuesday: Demolished a front porch, separated wood and bricks to skips, Pulling down ceilings,and denailing wood | |
| Wednesday: Hack of old plaster, mixing plaster for first coat, prepare brickwork with adhesive | |
| Thursday: Finish plaster to wall and repair, laying skim using hawk and trowel,take out doors and linings, take out kitchen fittings | |
| Stonework: observing stonemason using cotswold stone, mixing cement | |
| Friday: Plaster removing, clearing using a shute |
| Had to get to builders yard myself |
| Need to be practical, be strong and fit as some tasks were heavy lifting |
| Steel capped boots, masks, goggles, hard hat, gloves - all provided by the builder. |
| Possibly best to be sure that you want to be a builder. There were lots of different skills to learn about. |
| The money can be good but rain can make it hard work. |
