bulletcollected bricks in wheel barrow and stacked in piles swept out inside of building . taking of old plaster from walls.

Daily Diary:

bulletMonday: moved and stacked bricks, assisting carpenter, sweeping out building
bulletTuesday: Demolished a front porch, separated wood and bricks to skips, Pulling down ceilings,and denailing wood
bulletWednesday: Hack of old plaster, mixing plaster for first coat, prepare brickwork with adhesive
bulletThursday: Finish plaster to wall and repair, laying skim using  hawk and trowel,take out doors and linings, take out kitchen fittings
bulletStonework: observing stonemason using cotswold stone, mixing cement
bulletFriday: Plaster removing, clearing using a shute

bulletHad to get to builders yard myself

Particular skills or abilities needed:

bulletNeed to be practical, be strong and fit as some tasks were heavy lifting

Health and Safety requirements:

bulletSteel capped boots, masks, goggles, hard hat, gloves - all provided by the builder.

Advice for anyone considering this as a work-experience placement:

bulletPossibly best to be sure that you want to be a builder. There were lots of different skills to learn about.

bulletThe money can be good but rain can make it hard work.
