KLB started strongly: a decisive run down the middle of the pitch allowed Jamie Eke to score his first of many goals. Marling was quick to reply with a counter goal. Clever distribution between Charlie Lewis and Josh Ellis gave Jamie his second goal. Then Scott Patterson turned over the ball in midfield to allow Jamie to score a further goal into the top corner. Marling pulled a goal back despite the strong defensive efforts of the KLB team. Jamie went on to score a further two goals followed by a Marling goal.
In the last five minutes of the half, Lucas Harrell made numerous saves to deny Marling any further goals. In the final move of the half, Declan Price’s pass found Ryan Smallwood on the wing who went on to score a goal giving a half time score of 6:3.
Marling started the second half well with a string of attacking moves but impressive work in goal by Oliver Ward prevented Marling scoring. Thereafter, KLB counter attacked, allowing Jamie to add four goals to his tally. Marling were only able to reply with a goal. Then a quick pass found Joseph Spill in space and he was able to score. A creative move down the wing saw Lucas Harrell score in the last minute to give a final score of 12:4, in favour of KLB.
