There have been some very notable moments last week. The U16 girls hockey squad qualifying for the England Hockey Tier Three National finals in March 2020 after finishing 2nd place at the South West Regional Finals. This came after a penalty flicks victory over Mount Kelly School in the semi-final. Jo York making an all-important save to allow Rowen Moss to slot home the winning flick. The group have had an amazing season and their hard work and endeavour has been rightly rewarded after qualifying for the national finals.
The Y7 boys rugby squad continue with their ever growing reputation as an one of the strongest rugby sides in the county after winning the annual Churchdown School 10 a-side tournament. This tournament is always hugely competitive as it contains a large number of Gloucestershire’s best rugby schools. The squad showed plenty of adventure in attack on the day and plenty of discipline in defence to claim their title. They can claim wins against Gloucestershire’s more traditional rugby schools such as St Peter’s School, Crypt School, Marling School and Sir Thomas Richies School.
