40 Year 7 boys took part in the annual QEH Invitational House rugby 7s tournament on Saturday 3rd February. This year, Berkeley, Durand, Logan and Wellicome competed against the houses from Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital School and Pates Grammar School. This was the first opportunity for many players to experience the exciting variation of rugby. Despite wet and cold conditions, every player made huge progress throughout the tournament, with many excellent individual and team tries scored along the way.
We were delighted that two of our houses came away winning silverware. Both Durand and Logan qualified for the bronze final, in which Logan edged a thrilling final, scoring the winning try in extra time. Wellicome went one better, remaining unbeaten throughout the whole tournament and finishing overall winners, matching the achievement of Berkeley 3 years ago who also won the tournament in 2015.
A big thank you to all of the family and friends who supported our teams – your support from the side lines was invaluable on such a cold and wet day.
